The Ubaye valley in the south of the Alps in France is located at the center of a triangle Nice-Marseille-Turin. The Valley is away from the major road networks which is why the area has kept its original beauty and authenticity. Furthermore the culture is very different here under the mediterrean sun, Provence is very present in this Alpine environment-the feel, the tastes and the sounds. The Ubaye river is one the best river for rafting and whitewater sports in Europe, over 50 km of continuous whitewater. The flows can be voluminous and powerful in the spring, and more technical, more playful in the summer months. Rafting, kayaking, canoeing, or riverboarding can be done all season long, the trips are always adjusted to the water flows, to the level and the experience of participants.

The area aside from being perfect for whitewater sports, is also a fantastic area for family holidays, hiking, paragliding, cycling, swimming and the french way of life.

In the spring, many other rivers in the area can be paddled and explored as well, the Guil, the Var, the Durance, the Gyr, the Verdon, the Bachelard. Perfect for whitewater weekeends of rafting holidays!

Martinet-Lauzet – 9 km - 1h30 on the water- Class III/IV
The classic whitewater rafting trip-numerous rapids, fun whitewater and great scenery.

Springtime-beautiful whitewater, big waves, crushing holes and precise rafting. For people who have been rafting before Trip included in Spring day package.

Fresquière Rapids – 6 km – 1h15 on the water- Class V
This rafting trip requires more skills and more strength, the water is faster, the rocks are more numerous and the trajectories harder to achieve.
Price/pers: 38€ -16 years old minimum age.
During springtime, the water might be to high and to powerful to undertake this section.

Royal Gorge (Gorges du Lauzet to Serre Ponçon lake) 7 km – 2h30 on the water – Class V-V+
For Experts only, this is a very steep, technical and challenging section of whitewater. This rafting trip can be undertook only by a team of people who have previously rafted.
